Local Knowledge
Go Solar Energy NC, being a local company in North Carolina, should be well-versed with the local regulations, rebates, and solar incentives. Here are some key points:
Local Regulations
- North Carolina has specific solar ordinances in place that dictate whether solar projects can be built in residential zones.
- Some local governments in North Carolina have solar ordinances that include additional rules solar project developers must follow when building a solar project.
- While North Carolina’s solar access law prevents Homeowners Associations (HOAs) from completely prohibiting solar panels, there are still ways that an HOA may restrict their installation.
Rebates and Incentives
- The average North Carolina solar shopper will save $3,879 from the federal tax credit alone.
- North Carolina’s other rebates and incentives bring down the cost of solar even further.
- The Residential Clean Energy Credit, formerly known as the federal investment tax credit (ITC), can reduce your solar panel system’s cost by 30%.
- If you’re a Duke Energy customer, it’s worth considering a solar-plus-battery system due to the PowerPair program. With this program, if you pair your solar panel system with a battery, you could earn a one-time rebate worth up to $9,000.

Reviews
Positive Reviews
- “Go solar, was an excellent company to work with our solar installation. Not only have they done my Solar install but also my dad’s solar install in Florida. David Orshan was amazing, he walked me through every step of the way. He made sure I was satisfied with the installation, including products we were having added on. We started working with them to do the install in ’23. getting a team out to do the install took a bit, but was well worth it. they kept us updated, including the CEO of the company calling me to let me know what was going on. The team they got out contracted to us were all incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The only hic-up was the RV outlets they were installing for us. That had a misunderstanding, however David called me day of and we worked it out and got everything cleared up. Both Go solar and the contractors they used were a dream team to work with. The contractors even cleaned up their mess (I have never had a team doing a large install like this do that. I’m still finding flashing from updating all my house windows.) Which is important to me with owning four dogs, Having them cut or injure themselves on trash installers left out would not make me happy. However I am very pleased with them and I will be working with David again in the future when we do our battery wall install to finish out the project. Would give a 10/5 star review if I could.”
